Ethno-Sporty looks in the latest Byblos Milano collection

When I received the invite to the Byblos Fashion Show in Milan I was amazed: I’ve always loved this brand. I immediately booked my train ticket and set in the mood for the show.
The location was the Permanente, in Turati street – for fashionistas being there is like being at our house!
The show was so energetic and strong, and the collection is interesting and beautiful. Let’s see why.

First of all, the mood of the collection: the key word is made of two seemingly contrasting concepts: sporty-chic.
Sporty because of the technical fabrics and materials. Here the  workmanship and techniques create 3D effects with jacquards and unusual sport fabrics, such as scuba.
Chic are the volumes, in their simplicity and minimalism, but here volumes are also oversized and exasperated in some looks.

There’s another point of view inside this collection, and is the concept of ethnic. We saw Tribal outerwear, and the fabrics themselves seem to be ethnic, it is very clear in the prints – and the prints they are  the true stars of the collection.

The textures are Bauhaus inspired, from architecture to the geometrical shapes on the dresses. We all know that the geometric patterns are the signature of Byblos Milano.
Most interesting aspect: the leather is laser cut and burnt on the surface to create an ethnic pattern.

The palette: brilliant colors, a lot of fuchsia  and orange so hard to imagine together, but so well paired here. The whole palette is made of contrasting colors, with black and white, fuchsia, orange, turquoise –  with fluo yellow and orange in the high-tech details.

Quando ho ricevuto l’invito alla sfilata di Byblos a Milano  per la settimana della moda  ero felicissima: ho sempre adorato questo brand. Ho immediatamente prenotato il biglietto del treno e sono entrata nello stato d’animo di aspettativa per  la sfilata.
La  location era la Permanente, in via Turati – per le fashioniste andare là è come essere in una seconda casa!
la sfilata è stata uno spettacolo forte ed energetico, e la collezione bellissima e interessante. Vediamo perchè.

Prima di tutto, il mood della collezione: la parola chiave è composta da due concetti apparentemente cntrastanti: sporty-chic.
Sporty per via delle stoffe e dei materiali tecnici. Qui l’artigianalità e ele tecniche hanno creato effetti 3D con i jacquard e con altri tessuti tecnici, come lo scuba.
Chic sono i volumi, nella loro semplicità e minimalismo, ma qui i volumi sono anche oversize ed esasperati in alcune uscite.

C’è un altro punto di vista all’interno di questa collezione, ed è il concetto di etnico. Abbiamo visto capispalla tribali, e le stoffe stesse sembrano esserlo, tant’è vero che questo aspetto diventa molto chiaro nelle stampe – e le stampe sono le vere star di questa collezione.

Le textures sono ispirate allo stile Bauhaus, un viaggio dall’architettura alle forme geometriche sugli abiti. Tutti sappiamo che i pattern geometrici sono la firma di Byblos Milano.
Un altro aspetto interessantissimo: I pellami sono stati tagliati al laser e bruciati in superficie per creare un pattern etnico.

La palette: colori brillanti, molto fucsia  e  arancione, normalmente difficili da immaginare insieme, ma molto bene abbinati qui. Tutta la palette è composta da colori contrastanti, con il black & white, il fucsia, l’arancione, il turchese – ed il giallo e arancio fluo nei dettagli high-tech.
