My experience at the DWP Congress in Florence

Some weeks ago Florence hosted  a very important and exclusive event: the Thisr World Edition of the  Destination Wedding Planner Congress.
This event is very well known worldwide because every year the most influential International Wedding Planners of the planet take part to this congress and, with their speeches, inspire  and create interest and involvement in the audience.
I had the possibility to take part to it and I do believe it’s right to write about it for two reasons:
First of all, it was an extraordinary showcase for Florence, because wedding tourism is a classic in Tuscany and its tendency is exponentially growing; in second place because I do think that the city has created a strong impression above those great professionals and showed what Florence can do from many points of view in the realization of wedding events with extraordinary locations and services.
I’m not a Wedding Planner as you know, but being a Stylist who also works in the Bridal sector for me like for many other professionals this was a great occasion to get to know new professionals and situations.

Why you should take part to this event

It obviously was a spectacular and fascinating event, but its most remarkable utility was represented by the networking meetings, that are very well organized.
A good part of the program was dedicated to those previously programmed meetings, in which one could present and define his own expertise or services.
I have to admit that I had never seen such a great powerful efficiency before in organizing the networking aspect of an event, so to me it was just stunning.

What I found mostly impressive and surprising was the general mood: the atmosphere was definitely friendly and the participants was actually there to communicate one’s activity and for networking, in every moment of the event.
I think this is a great additional value and this is why it is worth taking part in this congress.

This aspect is definitely visible under the “surface”, a surface that is made some  evens in marvellous locations – and this has some very good reasons and aims, but I do believe that the contacts coming from networking activity are the best part of the congress anyway.

All the speeches were spectacular and engaging, and they transmitted the emotions and the enthusiasm of the fantastic speakers on stage. I would only like to say two names: Sharon Sacks and Kevin Lee!

Qualche giorno fa Firenze ha ospitato un convegno decisamente esclusivo e importante, la terza edizione mondiale del Destination Wedding Planner Congress. Si tratta di un evento di fama mondiale cui prendono parte ogni anno i Wedding Planner internazionali più influenti del pianeta e con i loro speech ispirano e creano interesse e partecipazione.
Ho avuto la possibilità di prendervi parte e credo sia giusto parlarne per due motivi: il primo è che si è trattato di una vetrina davvero eccezionale per la mia città, perché il turismo wedding a Firenze è tradizionale ed è in crescita, ma soprattutto perché credo che la città abbia impressionato questi professionisti e mostrato di quali meraviglie è capace Firenze.
Non sono una Wedding Planner, ma come Stylist lavoro anche nel settore Bridal, quindi per me come per altri professionisti è stato un occasione per conoscere delle realtà nuove.

Perché partecipare? Le mie impressioni

Si è trattato di un evento spettacolare e affascinante, ma soprattutto ha un’utilità incredibile che è rappresentata dal networking, serrato e organizzatissimo. Buona parte del programma infatti è dedicata agli incontri precedentemente programmati in cui ci si presenta e si definiscono le nostre competenze, o i nostri servizi. Devo dire che raramente ho visto un’organizzazione altrettanto efficiente. Sono rimasta davvero colpita.

Il clima all’interno del congresso è estremamente friendly: in effetti siamo lì per comunicare e appunto per fare networking, e questo avviene in maniera  estremamente efficace. Quindi direi che c’è un grande valore aggiunto e decisamente vale la pena partecipare.

Questo si vede oltre la superficie, una superficie fatta comunque di eventi in location splendide – e questo ha decisamente i suoi fini e i suoi vantaggi, ma credo che i contatti siano l’aspetto decisamente più consistente come risultato della partecipazione, e non è poco.

Gli speech sono stati tutti spettacolari e coinvolgenti, e trasmettono l’emozione, l’entusiasmo dei fantastici personaggi che li hanno fatti.
Faccio soltanto due nomi, che parlano da soli: Sharon Sacks e Kevin Lee!

Se avete intenzione di provare questa esperienza, vi consiglio di dare un’occhiata a questi link! Il Firenze Convention Bureau è stato Host Destination di questa terza edizione svoltasi  alla Leopolda, quindi potreste trovare molto interessanti le loro attività, ma soprattutto vi invito a pensare di partecipare al congresso dell’anno prossimo!
