Fashion and Art – Three Exhibitions not to be missed

Some days ago I shared  some live pics on my Facebook page  about an exhibition I was visiting; some of my readers founded them fascinating, so I decided to shortly write  about this exposition on the blog. It’s about the costumes created for the opera production Der Ring des Nibelungen by the Japanese designer Eiko Ishioka. You can admire a selection of some of her most beautiful creations  and it is possible to admire the  sketches and some posters designed by her. It doesn’t matter if you love Opera or not, these costumes can’t be missed.

Qualche tempo fa ho pubblicato sul mio profilo Facebook le foto di una mostra che stavo visitando, e tutti ne sono rimasti affascinati e incuriositi, per cui ne parlo brevemente sul blog.
Si tratta di un’esibizione dedicata agli abiti di scena per l’opera di Wagner L’Anello dei Nibelunghi, creati dalla designer giapponese Eiko Ishioka. Questa mostra  presenta una selezione di alcuni dei suoi costumi più straordinari accompagnati da schizzi e dai poster sempre da lei disegnati.
Credo che al di là per l’amore o meno per l’opera, questi costumi siano qualcosa di straordinario dal punto di vista del fashion design.

I must admit that it is not so easy to reach as my readers mostly  are from Italy and the US; in fact the exhibition is held in Amsterdam at the Stedelijk, BUT, as it usually is a must-see you will probably see the exhibition, too. The exhibition will continue through to October 19^th so you’ve got plenty of time to plan your visit.
Some years ago I used to visit art exhibitions at Sundays, and so I decided to resume this good habit and spent a very nice Sunday morning there.  I also would like to suggest you a stop at the coffee bar, it’s a lovely place.

Magari non è proprio dietro l’angolo perché è ad Amsterdam, però vi facilito il compito: trovandosi presso lo Stedelijk sarà sicuramente una tappa obbligata del viaggio. Avete tempo fino al 19 ottobre.
Io, per riprendere una mia vecchia buona abitudine del passato, quando ero là ci ho passato una domenica mattina, e sono stata felicissima di essermi alzata presto anche se ero in vacanza! Io fra l’altro suggerisco una sosta alla caffetteria del museo, è molto bella!

Two more exhibitions  at the Stedelijk  are very interesting, but they are going to be over in a few hours. One is for vintage lovers and it’s about an immersion in Sixties fashion, the second  one is a must see for the ones interested in modern jewelry design. All is going to be over on August 24^th, so I know that I would make a very bad travel blogger, but I do hope that I’m able to suggest these temporary exhibitions to some of you at the eleventh hour!

Peccato che stia ormai per terminare, ma era molto interessante, per gli amanti le immersioni nel vintage, anche l’esposizione di abiti Sixties e la sezione dedicata al gioiello contemporaneo. Il tutto terminerà fra pochi giorni, il 24 agosto, ma magari con questo post riesco a suggerirla a qualcuno all’ultimo momento!
